Each year the Super Summer Cruise car show in Branson, Missouri draws thousands of visitors. Whether you are interested in registering your car in the show, or just want to check out the amazing vehicles, you should check out this Branson car show. Of course, if you are not into cars, this is not the weekend to plan a Branson vacation. The streets will be packed with spectators, and local hotels are likely to be full to the brim with eager onlookers.
The 2012 Super Summer Cruise happens in early August, and features a number of popular events. The Midnight Cruise, made up of three miles of classic cars cruising through the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and Highway 76, is one of the biggest features of the event. It happens right on the stroke of midnight on Saturday, and is a lot of fun.
Of course, that isn’t all there is to the Super Summer Cruise car show. There are daily events open, featuring Branson area entertainers, at the Shepherd of the Hills Pavilion Theatre. The Stars in Cars Event is another fun choice. Starting on Thursday, and occurring again on Friday and Saturday, the Vehicle Show and Shine draws in a lot of visitors. Saturday evening, the Best In Show Awards occur at the Pavilion Theatre, and afterward, drivers are briefed for the Midnight Cruise.
Those interested in registering their cars for the Super Summer Cruise can do so either by mail or online. Registering in advance on the Internet allows attendees to pay less then they would by mail or at the door. Multiple vehicles can be added to each registration when applying online, and only one payment is made – a new feature for this show.
Vehicles can be registered in a number of classes, including stock autos from 1900-1972 and 1973-2013, as well as street machines in various year categories, modified trucks and muscle cars. There is even a special category for Corvettes, as well as a special interest category for all those cars that do not quite fit in elsewhere.
Stock vehicles are those which have not been modified, including changes in drive train and engine not made for that car, increased horsepower, custom paint and decals, and any other modification which isn’t related to safety. Scores are accumulated in five categories: Exterior, Drive Train, Interior, Engine and Customization or Restoration. Points are available in each category, with a bonus category, for Safety, Hazard and Emergency supplies.
Awards will be given for Best in Show, with two runner ups, and individual classes will each receive first, second, and third places. The top twenty cars based on over all score will receive a top twenty plaque. Special awards plaques are also given for best use of color, most unusual paint job, best work in progress, rattiest rat, most radical engine, best accessories, longest drive and best club participation, with additional peoples choice and owners choice awards presented.

bring back the tire roasting contest and the tire burning we have been coming up here for 6 years and the first few were great and it has steadily went down hill due to the police BRING BACK the TIRE BURNING
weve been coming to the car show for a lot of years weve desided to make this year our last along with alot of our family members the cops are getting to far out of hand you can tell its a small town with barny five as cops they dont know how to handel that big of a crowd. there forgetting who and how much money that brings in and soon there will be no one there to enjoy all the nice cars i can tell alot of people stopped goin when you dont have to make reservations and still get in a motel for the weekend. hopefully things will change and people can go and have fun again.
We have been bringing our Classic Muscle cars and vintage hot rods for the last 5 years and we love the show. However the Local idiots, the diesels black smoking the entire crowd and young locals driving like idiots around our Custom cars is a big concern for us. The police could relax some there is no doubt but It has become a free for all for everyone who owns a car. The show is about the custom classics and they need to remember that. Close the street in the evening and let the car everyone came to see cruise alone. Im not a hater at all but I spent 70,000 and 6 years of my life building a car and Im not looking forward to getting a fender fixed so the guy in the 1992 honda can show how stupid he is….
I am 21 and when i was 15 and 16 we came to it every year and we also stoped going when the police turned it into a donation day. It used to be super packed, you couldnt even get a hotel in the town of branson. Bring back the burnouts and let people have fun.
Ps. It was a lot more fun when you could see people taking buckets of water from the waterfalls and the pools and putting it on the road for burnouts.

We came to Branson to see the cars cruise the strip and all we got to see was a few cars and the rest was teenagers hanging out of the back of pickups drinking and hollering. What happened to closing the strip and letting the old cars cruise??????? that is what the signs on the side of the road said was going to happen the strip closed from 11 to 1. We wont be back…..VERY DISAPPOINTING.
this cruise is the biggest source of income and it happens in a three day period. there aint a hotel with a empty room or resturaunt with a empty seat. until this year. we all know what truly draws the crowds for that three days its people cruising the strip burnin out. no one wants to sit there and watch everyone idol buy. and this year proved it. years ago both sides of the strip was packed with people this year compared to other years hardly anybody. your ruining it. i talked to alot of people this year and everyone of them said if it dont go back to the way it used to be they and there friends and family aint coming back. an average couple like me and the girlfriend spends 500 bucks total in that 3 day window in that town. more if its a family. do the math on how much you lose. all were askin is just let us have fun more 3 days out of 365. im all for the cops in the parkinglots controling drinkin and fights but seriously leave us alone on the strip and watch the money numbers climb next year. cause honestly it down right sucked this year compared to 04 on down now that was pure fun!!!!
Ok, honestly. Everyone should go no matter what if theres cops or not, its still a blast and even if theres nice older cars or big trucks with black smoke its still a bunch of fun so just shut up and enjoy it! :)
The car show is next week and i will not be going. I ended up going last year just to see if it had gotten any better and it didnt. The first night of the cruise there where COPS EVERYWHERE!!! No one could do anything. I got screamed at by a Barney for reving my engine. ” You better cut that s**t out or that car will be on a tow truck” This was at about 11pm at night. Right after that happend we went to the hotel got our stuff and went home. Yes i know there are a lot of very nice cars that people have put lots of money into them and i feel your pain about stupid drivers. Stupid people need tickets not us folks with a brain.
